Abstract

Main goal of the IDEA Project was the introduction of software best practices concerning documentation, verification and validation in IT department of INPS, the main Italian public body providing social services.

The project defined standards for project documents, clear rules about the documentation flow and a Verification & Validation procedure. The application of defined rules is also supported by a document flow application, developed during the experiment.

An assessment activity, according to the ISO/SPICE emerging standard, has been executed at the beginning and at the end of the IDEA project, in order to verify the impact of the improvement activities on the critical processes. A Measurement Plan has been defined and measurements collected to evaluate the project results.
